Self-Awareness:

Yoga - Language from a Neuro-Linguistics approach

In this unique sensory awareness workshop we will explore the power of language in combination with Yoga.

Each of us has a part that wants to create something special during our time on earth, looking for purpose, self expression and development. Yet there is another part in us which values convenience and by remaining in familiar territory this may keep us from developing and realizing our potential. We can get stuck in mental and behavioral patterns and cling to the status quo.

When we use language we are sometimes unaware that we become creators of our reality. Similarly, this is also the case when using certain yoga asanas and theatrical poses allowing ourselves a multi dimensional approach to self expression and transformation.

GOALS OF WORKSHOP

Our goal is to combine methods of linguistic and somatic expression to access our inner strength when needed, to create new possibilities for self actualization and emerge balanced and re energized from this workshop. We will explore ways to develop increased awareness of our body and mind and the way we represent the model of our world in language. We can examine potential inner conflicts, old hurts if present and look to create effective new alternatives in our ways of coping and being.

We will seek to increase awareness of our body as an instrument – not only what we say but how we say it. What energy is in our expression? Intentional vocalizing creates measurable vitality and joy in our lives.

We will be investigating our life energy: what provides energy for us and what depletes our energy?

WHAT TO EXPECT

For this weekend we will have a targeted focus on specific themes which will be covered in single sessions in a group environment. We offer gentle, beginner-friendly restorative yoga postures, breathing, imaginative movement and vocalization. In language we will explore and building awareness to our creation potential and also learn how the use of language can limit us or keep us trapped. Over this 2 day period we will train our awareness to the way we use language. What portion of our experiences gets our attention. The hidden rules we have implied.

When do we distort, delete or generalize. We will get a glipms which meta programs are running us in the background and we are not aware off. With increasing awareness we will be able to use language as an empowering generative tool.

Creative self experience structures will give us a framework to get engaged with our internal cognitive and emotional processes which can bring us in touch with unlived aspects of our lives.

We also will focus on integrity to ourselves and facilitate the growth of our identity – realizing that our identity is not static. We are Creators!

Franz Gutwenger is a NLP Master Practitioner, who was trained by Leslie Cameron Bandler, Lynne Conwell, David Gordon and Michael Lebeau and others.

Prior to that I was trained in Gestalt and Body Work (with Leland Johnson from Gestalt Institute of Houston) in the Zentrum fuer Sozial und Individual Therapie in Penzberg/Munich – Germany (Center for Social and Individual Therapy). Over a 3 year time period I had the good fortune to experience firsthand many thought leaders and participated in their workshops. I got to know Anna Halprin (founder of San Francisco Dancers Workshop, Fritjof Capra – author of books such as “The Tao of Physics”. I participated and got familiarized with Jungian dream work. I assisted with Dr. Wolf Buentig the founder of ZIST in his Simonton oriented workshops for people who had developed cancer.

Before I moved to Wall Street I counseled and worked with individuals affected by cancer (Illness as a chance for a new beginning) in the Center for Psycho Synthesis in Hannover, Germany. During that time I was invited as a guest speaker at a national symposium for psychotherapists to demonstrate new ways to treat phobias. With my firm Gutwenger Consulting LLC (executive search and coaching) I have been providing consulting services to Wall Street firms since 2005.
